So I wanted to do another review of The Honest Company’s Essentials Bundle subscription box. For this month’s box I decided to get the conditioner, hand soap, laundry detergent pods, shampoo and body wash, and conditioning mist. The shampoo and body wash and conditioning mist are products I have tried before and liked, and the others were products I have been wanting to try.
The Essentials Bundle is $35.95, and allows you to pick 5 items for each box. The Honest Company lets you to pick the frequency of how often you get your box from either 4, 6 or 8 weeks. Items included in The Essentials Bundle are household and personal care products, such as shampoo and body wash, conditioner, hand soap, laundry detergent, surface cleaner, dish washing detergent and many others. The Honest Company features many natural and plant based products that are safer for your family. If you want to try The Honest Company, you can get a $10 credit when you spend $25 or more by using coupon code INVITED10.
For now I have decided to get the box every 6 weeks, as that is about how long it will take me to go through the bag of laundry detergent pods. Zulily was just recently running a sale where you could get a month of the Essentials Bundle for $19.95, so I purchased that deal.
Shampoo and Body Wash
I first tried this shampoo and body wash when it was included in my April Citrus Lane box, and I have been using it as my main shampoo and body wash ever since. It has a nice smell, that I would describe to be orange and vanilla. It reminds me of an orange creamsicle. I find it easy to get into a lather for washing my hair and using as a body wash.
I used this for the first time today, and I do think my hair is feeling more shiny and soft and less frizzy. I am often lazy and don’t feel like using a conditioner after showering, but I really should as it makes a big difference in my hair. This conditioner has a smell similar to the bath and body was. It contains argan oil and shea butter, as well as jojoba and quinoa. Overall I liked it and would get it again.
This was my first time getting their hand soap as well. I had read several articles in the past few months about the potential dangers of triclosan, and I have been replacing all the soap around my house with soap that doesn’t contain this. This hand soap doesn’t contain triclosan, and is made of plant based ingredients. It has a citrus scent, I would describe it as being similar to grapefruit. It worked well when washing my hands, though I kind of wish it was a foaming hand soap as I slightly prefer those, maybe they will make a foaming version in the future.
Laundry Detergent Pods
In the past I had been using Rockin’ Green as my laundry detergent, but I recently ran out and decided to give The Honest Company laundry pods a try. I have a front loading HE washer and dryer, and I put these in the section I normally put my powdered detergent. This detergent is a powder, but it comes in a pod form, that dissolves in the water. I liked the pod since it saved me the trouble of measuring out the detergent.
I decided to wash some sheets and baby clothing, and they all came out clean. This detergent is unscented, but I like unscented detergents so I was happy about that. I liked this laundry detergent and found it similar to other powdered detergents I have used in the past, such as Cotton Babies and Rockin’ Green.
This is a product I have purchased before and is one I spray in my hair each morning, along with my Kiss My Face mousse. A mousse or hair spray is another product I wished The Honest Company made. Anyway, I like this conditioner as well, like the shampoo and body wash and conditioner, it has an orange and vanilla scent. The spray bottle sprays a light mist so it gets all over your hair. My hair feels softer after I use it, and is easier to brush through.
Overall I liked everything I got this time. The reason I like this company is because after Claire was born, I started to get concerned about the safety of household products I was using. I started checking EWG before buying any new household products, to see what they contained and how save they were. I was happy when I discovered The Honest Company, because all the products that they make, that have been reviewed on EWG, have had good safety ratings.
If you are interested in giving The Honest Company a try, you can get $10 off your purchase of $25 or more by using coupon code INVITED10.
